Eren Industries and Acacia are partnering to develop over 500 MW of battery energy storage projects in France.

Eren Industries and Acacia are joining forces to develop, build, and operate a portfolio of battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in France totaling over 500 MW, including nearly 200 MW that are about to begin construction and more than 300 MW currently in advanced development.

A strategic alliance for the energy transition

Acacia, founded in 2022 by Julien Isambert (an entrepreneur in the energy transition and expert in the French power grid) and Green Tower (an investment and project development company focused on the energy transition), is now receiving support from Eren Industries. This partnership aims to accelerate the development, commercialization, financing, and construction of the initial storage projects while laying the foundation for a key player in energy storage and grid services in France.

Stakeholder statements

“We are delighted to support Acacia, Julien Isambert, Kevin Le Tenoux, and their teams in the development of their portfolio of large-scale storage projects in France. Acacia has done a remarkable job in project development in France, positioning itself as a natural market leader. This complements our presence in the development of storage capacities in Italy and Belgium. This promising partnership aligns with our ambition to create a new global champion of the energy transition.”

– David Corchia, co-founder of the Eren Group.

“Acacia’s vision is to contribute meaningfully to the energy transition by leveraging the complementarity of energy storage in support of renewable energy and grid infrastructure. Today, the hard work of our entire team is paying off; we are thrilled to bring our first projects to life alongside a globally renowned partner whose entrepreneurial spirit goes far beyond that of a traditional investor.”

– Julien Isambert (president) and Kevin Le Tenoux (CEO), co-founders of Acacia.

“Since the creation of Acacia alongside Julien and Kevin, we have shared a common ambition: to foster the emergence of a pioneer in energy storage in France. Today, we are very pleased to welcome Eren and grateful for their trust. Their expertise and credibility significantly strengthen Acacia’s trajectory, which is now ideally positioned to become a major player in the energy transition in France and across Europe.”

– Henri Gouzerh, Managing Director of Green Tower.
