The Indian solar panel manufacturing industry received a great boost, when solar panel maker ADM Solar Power announced on Thursday that it had received a contract for the supply of 24.5 megawatts of solar modules already manufactured in India to several high-profile solar initiatives driven by the government in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
Powering Agricultural Reforms
The order has been strategically divided so that it can support several state and central government schemes. It has been observed that a significant portion of power is committed to the state of Maharashtra and is utilized by the state’s energy development agency and the Mukhyamantri Saury Krushi Pump Yojana of the state’s electricity distribution department, known as MSEDCL.
In Madhya Pradesh, the company will provide 3.2 MW of electricity for the specific purpose of being installed in the PM KUSUM Component C. In this case, the projects are developed to offer electricity to the farmers during the day, practically cutting down the expenditure of the farmers on diesel.
High-Efficiency, “Make in India” Technology
To meet strict government standards, ADM Solar confirmed that it will deploy Domestic Content Requirement (DCR)-compliant modules. These high-efficiency mono PERC panels range from 500 Wp to 525 Wp.
By using DCR-compliant technology, the project aligns with India’s broader “Make in India” mission, ensuring that the infrastructure supporting the country’s green transition is built using home-grown equipment.
“The installations form part of broader efforts to expand decentralised solar generation, particularly for agricultural feeders, and to reduce reliance on conventional grid power,” the company stated.
Strengthening the Decentralized Grid
These are essentially meant to bring a modern look to the rural power scenario. Maharashtra especially seeks to bring in solar-powered irrigational schemes to ease the financial burden on the power distribution boards of the state.
As India increases its renewable energy ambitions, this is yet another statement of ADM Solar Power’s growing presence and participation in serving the utility and government sector. It is yet another milestone in India’s journey towards energy sector decentralization and empowering the agriculture sector through environmentally friendly and clean energy.
