ADM Solar Power has announced the signing of a 10 MW Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) under the Open Access Captive mode with Avener Green Pvt. Ltd., marking a major step in integrating renewable energy into its manufacturing operations. The solar power generated under this agreement will supply electricity to ADM’s solar module and solar cell manufacturing facility in Aligarh, significantly reducing dependence on conventional grid power while providing cost-effective and reliable green energy for high-capacity production lines.
The 10 MW captive solar project aligns with ADM’s long-term vision of creating a low-carbon, energy-efficient solar manufacturing ecosystem. By opting for open access captive solar power, ADM expects to achieve greater price stability, energy security, and operational cost optimisation, supporting both short-term efficiency and long-term sustainability goals.
Commenting on the development, ADM stated, “Powering our own solar module and cell production with renewable energy reflects our commitment to sustainability and responsible energy consumption. This initiative reinforces our position not only as a solar manufacturer but also as a clean energy consumer.”
The initiative also supports the Government of India’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, which encourage domestic manufacturing and adoption of sustainable practices. Transitioning to solar-powered operations is expected to significantly lower ADM’s carbon footprint while establishing a benchmark for sustainability within India’s solar manufacturing sector.
Avener Green, which specialises in utility-scale and open access solar projects, will develop and supply power from the captive plant, ensuring long-term performance, regulatory compliance, and reliable electricity supply. This collaboration highlights the increasing adoption of captive renewable energy solutions in India’s industrial and manufacturing landscape.
By integrating green energy directly into its operations, ADM not only reduces environmental impact but also strengthens its competitive advantage as a responsible and forward-looking solar manufacturer. The agreement represents a key milestone in ADM’s broader sustainability roadmap and reflects a growing trend among Indian manufacturers to combine renewable energy adoption with operational efficiency and corporate responsibility.
This move underscores ADM’s commitment to sustainable growth, positioning the company as a leading example of integrating renewable energy into high-capacity industrial operations.
