    5 Fast EV Charging Stations Introduced in Kerala

    The Agency for New and Renewable Energy Research and Technology (ANERT) has launched 5 Fast EV Charging Stations in Kerala to cater to the requirements of the ever-growing EV Market of Kerala.

    ANERTThe installations are Chittur Thathamankalam Municipality, Palakkad, Shornur Municipality, Palakkad, Perinthalmanna Municipality, Malappuram, KTDC Aahaar Restaurant, Vadakara, Kozhikode, and KTDC Aahaaram Restaurant, Kayamkulam, Alappuzha.

    The inauguration was done by the Minister for Electricity K Krishnankutty at Palakkad and online at the other Districts.

    All the EVCI are employed with 60 kW CCS2, 60 kW Cha-De-Mo & 22 kW Type 2 AC.

    For enabling private participation in the EVCI market, the Government of Kerala is providing Financial Assistance in terms of 25% of the Charging Machine cost and to encourage Renewable Energy systems, Additional Financial Assistance of Rs. 20,000 per kW for Solar installation up to 50kW.

    The installation of 6 more is nearing commissioning and another 10 Nos are in the pipeline.

    It recently issued an RFS (Request for Selection) for agency for the implementation of 2 MW solar power plant at Travancore Titanium Products Ltd, Kochuveli, Thiruvananthapuram under Solar City Project funded by Smart City Thiruvananthapuram Ltd.

    Earlier, in a key development, ANERT had signed a deal with the Norwegian renewable energy firm World Wide Wind for exploring options to find possibilities for or offshore wind energy by employing floating turbines.

    Currently, ANERT has 40 micro hybrid projects to be undertaken in tribal hamlets of Kerala.
