Ather Energy Launches 450S with 3.7 kWh Battery

Ather Energy expands its 450 series with the new 450S, featuring a 3.7 kWh battery and 161km range, priced at ₹1.46 lakh.

The 450 series is a popular line-up by Ather Energy, which the company has expanded with the debut of a new 450s with an upsized 3.7 kWh battery pack. The new model has a higher ex-showroom price in Bengaluru of Rs 145,999 and has a greater range certified by IDC of 161km.

The new variant straddles the center ground between the low-end 450S (2.9 kWh) and the protruding 450X to cater to riders who desire both range and performance but do not want to bear the extra expense of more advanced software options.

Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy Limited, said, “The 450 series has always set the bar for performance, technology, and reliability in the Indian electric scooter market. With the launch of the 450S featuring a 3.7 kWh battery pack and an IDC range of 161 km, we’re bringing the extended range previously exclusive to the 450X. The new 450S variant is specifically designed for riders who prioritize the sporty appeal and long-range capability of the 450 series over the advanced software features of the 450X. With an IDC range of 161 km offered by the new 450S, riders can now confidently plan longer journeys and still experience the thrilling performance the 450 series is renowned for, all at a more accessible price.”

The 450S 3.7 kWh maintains the sharp look and the LED design of the headlamp that Ather is known to have. According to the company, the scooter is agile and dynamically easy to handle regardless of the capacity of the scooter battery.

It gets exactly the same 5.4kW motor that delivers 22 Nm of torque, accelerates to 0-40 kmph in 3.9 seconds, and reaches a high speed of 90 kmph. It has four riding modes—smartEco, Eco, Ride and Sport—that enable the riders to alternate between efficiency and excitement.

The 450S 3.7 kWh has a 7-inch DeepView Display, Bluetooth, turn-by-turn navigation, AutoHold, FallSafe, an emergency stop signal, tow/theft alerts, and Amazon Alexa through AtherStack Pro installed. The scooter is able to keep up through OTA (over-the-air) software updates, and the model is completely compatible with Ather Grid, now encompassing its 3,300-plus fast-charging points around India.

Even at-home charging is highly effective, and a 0-80 percent charge can be attained within four and a half hours with the help of the Ather home charger.

Ather provides the scooter with the Eight70 warranty scheme that gives up to 8 years of warranty with a maximum limit of 80000km of coverage with a minimum battery life of 70 percent. Owners also will enjoy the increased network of the company of the experience centers where test rides, purchases, and after-sales service are done.

Reservations and dispatches

The Ather 450S (3.7 kWh) has also started accepting bookings online and at its retail stores across the country. The deliveries are planned to start in August 2025.

Pricing (Ex-showroom):

  • Bengaluru – Rs 145,999
  • Delhi – Rs one lakh forty-eight thousand and forty-seven
  • Mumbai 2 GHAZ ST. KETAN/UP
  • Chennai—Rs 1 lakh 47312

By launching the 450S 3.7 kWh, Ather has established itself once again in the electric scooter market in India, where it has introduced an electric scooter with a long-range capacity.
