Ather Energy Unveils 'Eight70 Warranty' for E-Scooter Batteries

Ather Energy, a manufacturer of electric two-wheelers, launched the “Eight70 Warranty” for its Rizta and Ather 450 series scooters. The warranty, which was created in collaboration with Reliance General Insurance, addresses major concerns of EV consumers by offering long-term battery health assurance.

Up to eight years or 80,000 kilometers, whichever comes first, are covered by the Eight70 Warranty. Throughout the warranty period, it offers complete protection against manufacturing flaws and failures, guaranteeing a minimum of 70% battery health. Notably, the warranty guarantees that claims cannot be denied for deep battery drain brought on by keeping the scooter uncharged or inactive for prolonged periods of time, and it has no upper limit on claim amounts.

According to Ather Energy’s Chief Business Officer, Ravneet Singh Phokela, battery longevity is an important consideration for EV purchasers. The new Eight70 Warranty, which offers 70% battery health assurance for up to eight years, was created to allay customers’ concerns about the lifespan and replacement costs of the batteries in their electric scooters.

For all lines, the Eight70 Warranty is an optional 3-year extension to the pro-pack’s standard 5-year warranty. Customers who choose the pro-pack can take use of it, which is priced at Rs 4,999 (GST included), further boosting Ather’s EV owners‘ peace of mind.

Ather’s product line, which targets different client categories, includes the 450 series and Rizta. Performance fans are the primary market for the 450 series, which includes models like the 450X, 450S, and 450 Apex. In the meantime, family-oriented users are served by the Rizta, which was unveiled earlier this year.
