Avaada Foundation, the social arm of Avaada Group, has established a unique planetarium in Dongla, Madhya Pradesh in collaboration with Acharya Varah Mihir Nyas to make scientific learning more interactive and accessible for students. Located exactly on the Tropic of Cancer, the planetarium offers a rare opportunity to witness the sun directly overhead on 21st June—a powerful blend of astronomy and geography in real-time.

The initiative aims to spark scientific curiosity and stem education while also connecting students to India’s rich knowledge traditions. This planetarium adds to Avaada Foundation’s growing presence in Madhya Pradesh through initiatives in education, women empowerment, environment , healthcare and rural development.

These include:

  • Providing school buses to improve student accessibility in remote tribal villages. Construction of toilets, furniture, libraries, and other infrastructure in government schools.
  • Running free coaching centres, conducting educational workshops for students’ holistic and futuristic development, extending ITI scholarships, and sports training.
  • Empowering rural women through skill-based training and stitching centres, providing them industrial machines, linking them to shirt Industry to make them self reliant.
  • Conducting medical camps, cattle health drives, and plantation campaigns.

“There was a significant need for a planetarium in this region which holds immense importance from an astronomical perspective. We sincerely thank Avaada Foundation for their support in making this possible.”

-Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav.

The planetarium initiative reflects the vision of Mr. Vineet Mittal, Chairman of Avaada Group, whose commitment to inclusive, technology-led development continues to shape Avaada Foundation’s mission to uplift rural India through sustainable, meaningful transformation.

“By visiting this planetarium, children will get a real-life experience of astronomy, science, and technology. It will enhance their experiential learning and strengthen their ‘learning-by-doing’ skills, which is at the heart of our educational efforts.”

– Ms. Ritu Patwari, Director, Avaada Foundation.

From exploring the stars to transforming lives on the ground, Avaada Foundation is creating pathways to
possibility, purpose, and progress across Madhya Pradesh.
