In a landmark milestone for India’s electric mobility sector, Battery Smart has become the first company in the country to complete 100 million battery swaps across its network of electric two- and three-wheelers. Achieved nearly five years after the company’s founding, this achievement underscores India’s shift toward clean, affordable, and accessible electric mobility, while highlighting Battery Smart’s pan-India, tech-driven, and scalable battery-swapping model built on affordability and strong ecosystem collaboration. The company is estimated to operate around 70% of India’s battery swapping infrastructure.
To commemorate this milestone and strengthen its commitment to drivers, Battery Smart has also launched the Driver Welfare Fund 2026, a ₹10 crore initiative aimed at enhancing the social and economic security of its driver community. The fund will provide insurance and financial protection, referral and reward programs, free swaps, skill development, and community inclusion initiatives, benefiting approximately 1 lakh EV drivers.

Battery Smart has also fostered an inclusive EV ecosystem, supporting over 5,000 women drivers and 250 women partners, promoting diverse participation in India’s clean mobility journey. Its technology stack, including IoT-enabled batteries and real-time monitoring, enables predictive maintenance and minimizes downtime, a critical factor for gig economy drivers. The system ensures high uptime and a reliable swapping experience nationwide, allowing drivers to swap batteries anytime, anywhere.
Looking forward, Battery Smart plans to expand to 100 more cities by 2026, deploy thousands of additional swap stations, and scale daily swaps to meet growing demand from commercial EV operators. The company’s roadmap also includes investments in next-generation safety systems, enhanced IoT intelligence, and continued collaboration with regulators and industry stakeholders to accelerate India’s clean mobility transition.
