CESC Limited has announced that its subsidiary, Purvah Green Power Private Limited, has signed a binding Letter of Intent (LOI) with Klasscorp Solutions Private Limited for consultancy services related to a 250 MW wind power project at Bijapur CTU in Karnataka.
Under the terms of the LOI, Klasscorp Solutions will provide land acquisition consultancy and related project development services for the proposed wind farm. The scope of work includes support during both the development and execution phases, forming a key part of Purvah Green Power’s strategy to expand its renewable energy portfolio.
The LOI will remain valid for one year from the date of execution, or until definitive agreements are signed, whichever occurs earlier. CESC confirmed that the transaction does not constitute a related-party transaction, as neither the promoter nor the promoter group of Purvah Green Power has any interest in Klasscorp Solutions.
The proposed 250 MW wind project represents a significant addition to renewable energy capacity in Karnataka, a state with strong wind resource potential and an established policy framework supporting clean energy development.
As outlined in a recent investor presentation, Purvah Green Power is currently executing 3.2 GW of hybrid renewable energy projects, comprising 1,200 MW of solar and wind capacity 600 MW each across Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh, with power offtake agreements already secured.
The company has also entered into a framework agreement with Envision Energy India Private Limited for the supply and commissioning of 1 GW of wind turbine generators. Under its Phase 1 plan, Purvah Green Power aims to add 3.2 GW of renewable capacity by FY29, with a longer-term Phase 2 target of reaching 10 GW. In parallel, the company plans to secure grid connectivity for 5.8 GW across high wind and solar potential states, including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
