CESL Issues Tender for EV Charging, Battery Swapping

Charge Point Operators (CPOs) are being invited to bid on the purchase, installation, testing, and upkeep of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and battery swapping stations by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL). The Build, Own, Operate, and Maintain (BOOM) model of the tender aims to improve the EV infrastructure throughout India.

The call for bids, which went live on September 17, 2024, asks CPOs to manage the entire process—from installation and procurement to operation and maintenance. The tender documents will be available for purchase on September 18, 2024, and the deadline for submitting bids is October 8, 2024.

CESL has issued a tender titled “Selection of Charge Point Operators for EV Charging and Battery Swapping Stations” under the BOOM model. Key details include:

    • Category: Service
    • Application Fee: ₹20,000
    • EMD Value: ₹720,000 (divided into two packages)
    • Technical Bid Opening: October 8, 2024
    • Pre-bid Clarification: Offline

In an effort to provide EV consumers with more seamless transitions, CESL is strengthening India’s EV charging infrastructure with the help of this tender. By enabling CPOs to create, control, and manage the infrastructure, the BOOM model promotes innovation and long-term sustainability in EV services.
