Cosmic PV Power Limited has commissioned a new 1.6 GW solar module production line in January 2026, increasing its total manufacturing capacity to 3 GW. The expansion has been completed on schedule and aligns with the company’s broader growth plans. With this development, Cosmic strengthens its position among India’s largest OEM/ODM solar manufacturers and reflects its fast-paced expansion strategy supported by a distinct go-to-market approach.
Advanced Technology Portfolio
The newly added 1.6 GW facility uses advanced TOPCon G12R technology. With this addition, Cosmic now offers all three major solar module technology platforms under one roof:
• Mono PERC Glass-to-Backsheet Technology
• TOPCon M10R Glass-to-Glass Technology
• TOPCon G12R Glass-to-Glass Technology
TOPCon G12R modules are increasingly preferred for Independent Power Producer (IPP) projects that require high-efficiency solar modules. The expanded portfolio allows Cosmic to cater to a wide range of customers, including large utility-scale developers and specialized project requirements.
Leadership Perspective
Shravan Gupta, Co-Founder and MD, stated, “The 3 GW milestone is a vital step in our aim to be a key player in India’s renewable energy growth. A diversified portfolio of modules will allow Cosmic to fulfill demand from segments where we have our core strengths even more efficiently.”
Jenish Ghael, Co-Founder and Chairman, added that the company’s expansion into energy storage and solar cell manufacturing remains on track and will strengthen Cosmic PV’s integration within the rapidly evolving renewable energy sector.
Multi-Pronged Growth Strategy
Cosmic PV is pursuing two key strategic initiatives to support vertical integration and market diversification. In doing so, it joins industry players such as Waaree Energies, Premier Energies and Saatvik, which are also expanding their portfolios.
Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Manufacturing: A new BESS facility is being developed next to the existing 3 GW solar module plant in Surat. This will enable operational synergies and expand Cosmic’s offerings into integrated energy solutions combining generation and storage.
Solar Cell Manufacturing: The Madhya Pradesh Government has allotted 60 acres of land in Narmadapuram for Cosmic’s solar cell plant. Construction is scheduled to begin in March 2026. The move supports backward integration and reduces reliance on imported solar cells. The upcoming ALCM regime for solar cells from June is already encouraging faster domestic capacity expansion.
The enhanced 3 GW production capacity is expected to significantly increase revenue in FY 2026–27 and support larger IPP project orders.
