Danfoss India and PowerNEU Launch Joint Venture to Accelerate Decarbonisation in Metals and Heavy Industries

Danfoss India, in strategic partnership with engineering firm PowerNEU, has launched Danfoss PowerNEU Private Limited, a first-of-its-kind joint venture focused on providing decarbonisation and energy-efficiency solutions for India’s metals and heavy industries. The partnership was inaugurated with a groundbreaking ceremony for a new manufacturing facility and office in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, on January 16, 2026.

“India’s metals and heavy industries are at a pivotal stage where growth must align with sustainability. Danfoss PowerNEU reflects our long-term commitment to India by combining global decarbonisation expertise with strong local execution. The Jamshedpur facility reinforces the strategic importance of Eastern India as the country’s steel heartland,” said Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India.

Serving Core Industrial Regions with Integrated Solutions

The Jamshedpur facility is strategically designed to serve steel and metals producers across Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and neighbouring regions. It will provide design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and quality assurance for complex industrial applications, delivering products from Danfoss’s portfolio, including Power Drives, Climate Solutions, and Power Solutions.

“The formation of Danfoss PowerNEU is a strategic step to accelerate decarbonisation in India’s core industries. The Centre of Excellence in Jamshedpur will be a core pillar of Danfoss PowerNEU’s execution model, focusing on application development and advanced engineering to enable faster deployment and continuous performance improvement,” said Mandar Vaijanapurkar, Head of Drives Sales, Marketing & Services, Danfoss India.

Experience Centre and Customer-Centric Approach

The site will house a dedicated Experience Centre, supporting hands-on training, technology demonstrations, and capability development in power electronics, climate control, and hydraulics. Equipped with 24×7 connectivity and on-site response capabilities, the facility enables customer-centric solutions tailored to real plant conditions.

“Danfoss PowerNEU brings together the complementary strengths of both partners, combining Danfoss’s global technologies and decarbonisation solutions with PowerNEU’s strong engineering capabilities, deep local insight, and execution excellence. This partnership is designed to significantly enhance customer experience and operational outcomes for steel producers across the region,” said Vijay Kumar Singh, Managing Director, Danfoss PowerNEU Systems Pvt Ltd.

Driving Energy Efficiency and Green Steel Transition

With approximately 53% of global energy projected to be lost as waste heat by 2030 and India’s green steel demand expected to reach 4.49 million tonnes by FY30, Danfoss PowerNEU is positioned as a long-term platform to scale decarbonisation solutions, enabling energy-efficient growth, lower emissions, and measurable industrial impact across the metals and heavy industry sectors.

Tanmay Roy, Director Operations, Danfoss PowerNEU Systems Pvt Ltd, added, “The Centre of Excellence will focus on application development, advanced engineering, and capability building for the metals sector, ensuring that decarbonisation initiatives move beyond pilots and translate into scalable, operational impact for our customers.”
