Eastman Appoints Sunil Tiku as Chief Business Officer to Lead Large-Scale Solar & Storage Expansion

Eastman Appoints Sunil Tiku as Chief Business Officer

Eastman Auto & Power Limited (EAPL) has recently appointed Sunil Tiku as the Chief Business Officer—Large Systems (Solar and Storage Business), the company said in a press release. Tiku boasts an acclaimed career of more than 32 years of experience related to business development, strategic sales, product and project management, and successful execution of high-value projects in the energy domain across various industrial skylines.

At this strategic leadership position, Sunil Tiku will lead the entry of Eastman into the large-scale solar and energy storage sector, targeting utility-scale solar systems, integrated storage solutions, and other high-impact collaborations in commercial and industrial areas. It is known that Sunil Tiku can be a visionary and purpose-driven leader who has consistently been a consistent source of growth through effective strategic planning and strategic account management, as well as strong empowerment of groups of people. He has experience in leadership of full P&L roles and acquisition of high-valued projects, as well as transformation and growth of organizations.

“I am excited to join Eastman at a time when the solar energy landscape in India is rapidly evolving,” said Sunil Tiku, Chief Business Officer – Large System Solar & Storage Business. “With Eastman strengthening its manufacturing capabilities in power electronics, lithium batteries, and lead-acid batteries, I look forward to leading this portfolio for large-scale solar and storage accounts, specifically in the utility plus commercial & industrial segments. As major solar players seek partnerships with India-based manufacturers aligned with the ‘Make in India’ vision, I am eager to drive these strategic partnerships for Eastman, focusing on inverters & lithium batteries. I look forward to building high-performing teams and delivering customer-centric solutions that enable India’s transition to smarter, greener energy.”

Before this, Sunil Tiku was the Country Manager of India at SOFARSOLAR and took overall responsibility for leading the business of Grid-Tie, Hybrid Inverter, Energy Storage System (ESS), and Energy Storage Solution Line across the corporation, where he had full P&L responsibility. Prior to that he was in senior leadership at Solartive Techno Products, Waaree Group, RAL Consumer Products & Luminous. His tenure as a leader in the development and the expansion of the solar energy business has been characterized by strategic vision, revenue growth, and market development.

Having become part of the leadership team, Sunil Tiku provides Eastman with an opportunity to renew its commitment to provide the scalable, efficient, and pervasively integrated supply of clean energy in India.
