Eastman Auto & Power Limited has entrusted a major Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vande Bharat Electric Vehicles.

Eastman Auto & Power Limited has entrusted a major Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vande Bharat Electric Vehicles. According to the pact, Eastman will be offering lithium-ion batteries valued at 50 crore rupees every year to Vande Bharat EVs. This collaboration is one giant leap in ensuring that the adoption of electric three-wheelers becomes faster and greener transportation in India.

With this partnership, Eastman will enable Vande Bharat to offer smart battery technology to e-rickshaw fleets, thereby helping commercial drivers and fleet operators nationwide to adopt EVs at an affordable cost.

Eastman Auto & Power Limited is among the top power solutions companies in India, which was established in the year 2006 and deals with e-mobility, solar energy, and energy storage solutions. Eastman is present across the globe in over 50 countries with eight manufacturing units in India and more than 5,000 employees. The firm also produces the solar tubular batteries, making it the largest company in India.

Vande Bharat Electric Vehicles (Sahaniyanand E-Vehicles Private Limited) is an electric three-wheeler (e-rickshaw, e-cart, e-loader) manufacturing company specifically tailored to Indian conditions as a part of the Government of India programs ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India.’

“This partnership is a significant milestone in our mission to accelerate electric mobility in India. The combination of our advanced lithium-ion battery technology and Vande Bharat’s e-rickshaw fleet will promote sustainable transportation across the country.”

– Shekhar Singhal, Managing Director of Eastman Auto & Power Limited.

“This partnership with Eastman is a crucial step for us. We aim to empower drivers, enable green logistics, and bring India closer to its net-zero targets.”

– Sumit Anand, Director of Vande Bharat Electric Vehicles.

This partnership is a collective attempt by two industry giants to ensure EV adoption in India is easier, more consistent, and more affordable.
