Essar Future Energy Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Rajkot. Under the agreement, the company will establish a large-scale bio-fuel complex in Devbhumi Dwarka district, with an initial feedstock processing capacity of 1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). The project involves a proposed investment of ₹5,100 crore and is expected to generate approximately 350 direct jobs, with operations slated to begin by 2029.
The facility will be developed as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) unit and will primarily focus on decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors, offering clean fuel solutions for aviation, shipping, and road transport, strengthening Gujarat’s emerging bio-energy ecosystem.
Government Support and Strategic Significance
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Hon’ble Cabinet Minister Shri Rushikeshbhai Patel, Minister of State Shri Kaushikbhai Vekaria, and other senior officials from the Energy & Petrochemicals Department, Government of Gujarat.
