Geon enters India’s home inverter market with advanced lithium-ion batteries, marking Kabra Extrusiontechnik’s B2C debut in clean energy.

Geon, the high-technology solution wing of Kabra Extrusiontechnik Ltd., has introduced itself to the home inverter battery market with a new series of high-efficiency lithium-ion batteries that meet the backup requirements of households and small businesses.

It is a big step, as the parent company, Kabra Extrusiontechnik, makes a debut in the B2C market after its long 60-year history. The move will highlight the strategic direction of the company to transition into what will be a direct-to-consumer clean-tech enabler.

Clean, Compact and Consumer-Ready

The new Geon inverter batteries powered by a proprietary R&D and lithium battery expertise will become:

  • Faster charging
  • Longer lifespan
  • Easy to transport and hardly needs care. Lightweight and almost maintenance-free -free
  • Energy storage with an environmental conscience
  • Reduced long-term cost of energy to the consumer.

Motoring Energy Access in energy-poor areas

“This B2C launch is a well-planned step toward broadening Geon’s impact and accelerating our role in India’s evolving energy ecosystem. Our lithium-ion inverter solutions will empower households and small businesses with smarter, greener, and more reliable backup power—especially in regions with frequent outages.”

– Mr. Anand Kabra, Vice Chairman & MD of Kabra Extrusiontechnik Ltd.

He added that the company aims to democratize access to clean energy while addressing the rising demand for sustainable power backup in India’s residential sector.

Strategic Shift

  • In the past years, lithium battery costs have decreased greatly, and they have so far become a cost-effective substitute for lead-acid systems.
  • The new line of inverters will utilize the pan-India distribution and bulk manufacturing and electrical engineering capacities of Geon.
  • The relocation will make Geon a competent player in the thriving home energy storage sector, which the newcomer aims to tap into, where established players and lead-acid technology solutions are the dominant technologies.

Geon is a clean energy company operating under Kabra Extrusiontechnik Ltd., which is a top world player in the production of sophisticated lithium battery packs for electric cars as well as energy storage. Geon combines high technical R&D, well-established supply chains and a national distribution grid to deliver futuristic power solutions to all businesses and households in India.
