GEON Launches All-in-One Backup Solution with Integrated Inverter for Homes and SMEs

GEON, part of the 60-year-old Kabra Extrusion Technik, part of the Kolsite Group, which brings decades of experience in extrusion and engineering solutions, has announced the launch of its GELITHIUM Integrated Inverter Solution, a next-generation, all-in-one power backup system that combines the inverter and built-in lithium-ion battery into a single compact enclosure. The launch strengthens GEON’s presence in the fast-growing integrated inverter segment and targets India’s over four crore households and small businesses that depend on backup power for daily operations and continuity.

Power instability continues to affect productivity across many parts of the country, especially in fast-growing semi-urban regions and transition markets where grid reliability remains inconsistent, and several Central and Eastern Indian growth corridors face recurring voltage fluctuations and peak-hour load shedding.

Industry estimates indicate that nearly 70 percent of India’s installed backup capacity still operates on legacy lead-acid inverter systems, which involve electrolyte maintenance, manual wiring, frequent servicing, lower operating efficiency, and faster performance degradation over time. As households and micro-businesses seek to reduce long-term ownership costs and simplify daily usage, integrated lithium inverter platforms are increasingly becoming the preferred upgrade, driven by their maintenance-free operation, longer service life, and consistent power output. Addressing this shift, GELITHIUM simplifies the traditional backup setup by combining the inverter and lithium battery into a single sealed unit, eliminating the need for external cabling or bulky backup batteries. This compact, all-in-one design reduces installation complexity for dealer partners, saves indoor space for users, and removes routine servicing requirements, making it an efficient solution for homes, clinics, small retail outlets, offices, and light commercial applications.

The systems utilise advanced lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO4) prismatic cells supported by an intelligent Battery Management System, fast-charging capability and multi-layer protection features, enabling consistent performance, improved safety and extended operating life.

The GELITHIUM range offers reliable and efficient power backup. It lasts much longer than normal lead-acid batteries. It does not need any maintenance. There is no need for water refills or fixing corrosion. This means fewer service calls after installation and lower overall costs for customers. It also makes the product easy for dealers to sell because there are fewer complaints. The range has different models for regular home use and for heavier commercial use. This helps partners serve both household and small business customers with one product line.

“The economics of power-backup are shifting from upfront pricing to lifecycle value. Users want higher usable energy per cycle with minimal supervision. By combining lithium chemistry, BMS and inverter hardware into a single system, the GELITHIUM delivers predictable long-term performance without the recurring upkeep typical of lead-acid configurations.”

Anand Kabra, Chairman & Managing Director, GEON

Built to support the increasing use of electronic devices at homes and offices, GELITHIUM provides steady and clean power. This helps protect sensitive equipment like medical devices, laptops, Wi-Fi systems, CCTV cameras, and billing machines. It comes with an easy-to-read display so users can quickly check how the system is working. The in-built safety features keep the system reliable even during long hours of use. Overall, GELITHIUM is a practical and future-ready backup solution that keeps customers satisfied, reduces the need for service, and offers strong value for distributors and partners.
