Green Power International Pvt Ltd wins 384 TKM electrification contract with South-Eastern Railway

Green Power International Pvt Ltd wins 384 TKM electrification contract with South-Eastern Railway

Green Power International Pvt. Ltd., a leader in the EPC industry specialising in gas and liquid-fuel-based power generation systems, has been awarded a 384 TKM (Track Kilometers) and Overhead Electrification contract by the South-Eastern Railway for the Adra Division.

Under the terms of the contract, Green Power International will be responsible for the upgradation of the electric traction system from 1×25 kV to 2×25 kV. The company will design, supply, erect, test, and commission the traction system for the Asansol–Adra–Bhojudih–Dhanbad section of the Adra Division. The company will execute the project in adherence to the standard guidelines and technical specifications issued by RDSO and CORE for the upgradation of electric traction systems.

The project will support Indian Railways’ ongoing efforts to increase the line’s power capacity and efficiency to meet the projected 3000 MT freight loading target in the region, enabling train speeds of up to 160 kmph. Green Power International was awarded this contract for its extensive expertise and decades of experience in delivering end-to-end complex electrification solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems while ensuring the highest safety and quality standards.

Speaking about the recent development, Mr Varun Puri, Managing Director of Green Power International said, “We have vast experience in railway electrification and upgradation projects. We have collaborated with Indian Railways on multiple projects, and this new contract with the Adra Division is a testament to our expertise, quality, and commitment to delivering projects on time while adhering to safety standards. Our objective is to support the transition to sustainable and energy-efficient power systems, and we are proud and honoured to assist Indian Railways in the electrification process to achieve Net Zero goals.”

The company is committed to contributing to Indian Railways’ mission of achieving 100% electrification and net-zero carbon emissions by 2030. Moving strongly in this direction, the company has, till now, electrified over 1800+ TK, commissioned 14 traction substations, and delivered 61 switching stations, contributing toward a sustainable and energy-efficient future.

In the past, Green Power International has successfully executed design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of 25 kV, 50 Hz, Single Phase AC electrification works for the Kota and Ratlam Divisions of the West Central and Western Railways, the Malda Division under Group-204 of the Eastern Railway, and the Izzatnagar Division of the Northeastern Railway.
The company’s efficient project execution ensures timely delivery while consistently meeting quality standards. Its experienced teams and streamlined processes have earned Green Power International a reputation for reliability in the industry.
