Hinduja Renewables Names Deepak Thakur as MD & CEO Effective October 2025

Hinduja Renewables Energy, which operates as a part of the esteemed Hinduja Group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Deepak Thakur as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective from October 1, 2025. Deepak Thakur will be taking over the reins from Sumit Pandey, who has been leading the company until now.

With a rich career spanning over three decades, Deepak Thakur brings with him extensive experience across a diverse range of sectors, including renewable energy, infrastructure, industrial products, and electronics. Over the years, he has held several key leadership positions in prominent organizations such as the Mahindra Group, Reliance, Sterling & Wilson, L&T, Honeywell, and Thermax, showcasing a remarkable track record of strategic leadership and operational excellence.

Speaking on this leadership transition, Shom Hinduja, Chairman of Hinduja Renewables Energy Pvt Ltd (HREPL), expressed his confidence and optimism about the future of the company under Deepak’s leadership. He said, “As we continue to build on our aspiration to be a leading player in the renewable energy domain, Deepak’s experience and leadership will be pivotal in our journey ahead. We are happy to have Deepak on board and look forward to collaboratively building Hinduja Renewables. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Sumit for his foundational contribution to Hinduja Renewables and wish him well for the future.”

Deepak Thakur, on his appointment, shared his enthusiasm and commitment towards the company’s vision. He stated, “It is a privilege to be part of the Hinduja Group. The group’s deep commitment to renewables aligns strongly with India’s energy transition, and I look forward to being part of this exciting journey of impact and growth.” His remarks reflect a strong alignment with Hinduja Renewables Energy’s mission to play a significant role in India’s evolving renewable energy landscape.
