India Achieves 50% Non-Fossil Power Capacity and Clarifies No Halt in Renewable Project Financing

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, will host the International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH 2025) on 11 and 12 November at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The conference will feature participation from senior Union Ministers, including Shri Pralhad Joshi, Minister of New and Renewable Energy and Minister of Consumer Affairs; Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Food & Public Distribution; and Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences.

ICGH 2025 will bring together government officials, technical experts, students, delegates, industry representatives, and media professionals. The event will focus on topics related to the development of green hydrogen and its applications across various sectors.

The conference is part of the Indian Government’s efforts to advance the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM). Through a mix of thematic dialogues and round-table sessions, the event aims to disseminate knowledge on practical pathways for scaling up green hydrogen production, enabling infrastructure, building demand, and encouraging global collaboration. Sessions focusing on financing, certification, port readiness, skill development, and localization of technologies, as well as contextual relevance across multiple geographies, form the highlights of ICGH 2025.

Speaking about the upcoming conference, Shri Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, MNRE, and Chairman, SECI, said, “Green hydrogen will be an important part of India’s efforts to ensure clean, affordable, and domestically produced energy. The sector is evolving, and it is important to bring clarity on technology choices, cost trends, infrastructure requirements, and demand creation. ICGH 2025 will help align the priorities of government, industry, and research so that implementation under the Mission can move forward in a coordinated manner.”

The conference will feature senior representatives from the Ministries of New and Renewable Energy, Power, Ports, Steel, Fertilizers, and Science and Technology. International delegations will include the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Hydrogen Europe, the H2 Global Foundation, the Korea Hydrogen Alliance, and the Port of Rotterdam Authority.
