Inox Wind, the leading producer of wind turbine generators and wind turbine components, has published a ₹400 crore investment in a new production unit in the Kyadigoppa Industrial Area (Kushtagi taluk, Koppal district, Karnataka).
The project will also be implemented in two stages, and the initial investment will be 300 crore, and the later phase will be 100 crore. The facility, with support of the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB), is expected to generate approximately 1,000 direct jobs, as stated by the Minister of Large and Medium Industries M. B. Patil.
The site was chosen architecturally because its position was near the National Highway, which plays a crucial role in the delivery of a huge part of wind turbine towers and blades. Although initially Vijayapura district was under consideration, the project was relocated to Koppal due to the inappropriateness of industrial land in that area that is near the highway.
The facility will specialize in manufacturing wind turbine towers and blades, as well as pillars, which will increase Karnataka’s manufacturing of renewable energy production.
