JSW Energy Appoints Dinesh Kumar Poroorkara as Senior Vice President – Head of Wind Renewables

JSW Energy Ltd has announced the appointment of Dinesh Kumar Poroorkara as Senior Vice President – Head of Wind Renewables, strengthening the company’s leadership as it accelerates the expansion of its renewable energy portfolio. In this role, Poroorkara will be responsible for leading JSW Energy’s wind power business, with a focus on large-scale project execution, operational excellence, and the strategic growth of wind assets across the company’s renewable platform.

As Head of Wind Renewables, Poroorkara will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of wind energy projects, including development, execution, and operations. His mandate includes improving asset performance, ensuring timely delivery of projects, and supporting JSW Energy’s broader clean energy transition strategy as the company scales its renewable capacity in line with national decarbonisation goals.

Poroorkara brings more than 30 years of experience across the wind and solar energy sectors, offering deep technical and commercial expertise in project development, project management, operations, and business development. Over the course of his career, he has been closely involved in the planning, execution, and commissioning of several landmark renewable energy projects in India and overseas, contributing to the growth of large, utility-scale clean energy infrastructure.

Prior to joining JSW Energy, Poroorkara held senior leadership positions at Serentica Renewables, ArcVera Renewables, a Bureau Veritas company, ReNew, and Kiran Energy Solar Power Private Limited. In these roles, he played a critical part in building and managing renewable portfolios, strengthening operational processes, and delivering projects across multiple geographies. His experience across independent power producers, advisory firms, and engineering-focused organisations has given him a well-rounded perspective on the renewable energy value chain.

With this appointment, JSW Energy aims to further strengthen its wind energy capabilities as part of its diversified renewable mix, which includes wind, solar, and hybrid projects. Poroorkara’s extensive industry experience and hands-on leadership are expected to support the company’s efforts to enhance execution efficiency, optimise performance across operating assets, and drive long-term, sustainable growth in its wind renewable business.
