Kshema Power Appoints Mohan Shanmugam as Overall Head of Projects

Kshema Power Appoints Mohan Shanmugam as Overall Head of Projects

Kshema Power India Private Limited has appointed Mohan Shanmugam as Overall Head of Projects, a strategic move aimed at strengthening its project execution capabilities as the company expands its renewable and hybrid energy portfolio.

Shanmugam brings over 30 years of cross-functional experience in power and transmission infrastructure across India and the Middle East. In his most recent role as Senior Project Director at Al Gihaz Holding in Saudi Arabia, he managed the delivery of Extra High Voltage (EHV) transmission and Smart RMU projects valued at over SAR 3.8 billion, overseeing competitive bidding, tendering, execution, and financial alignment across multiple regions.

His career also includes senior leadership positions at Senvion India and Alfanar India, where he led execution teams for wind energy projects.

Mohan’s strategic oversight will be key to strengthening our project execution framework, driving standardization, and ultimately reinforcing our commitment to client satisfaction and timely project commissioning.”

Shanmugam expressed his enthusiasm about joining Kshema Power during what he described as a transformative phase in the renewable energy sector. He noted that his priority will be to integrate global best practices into the company’s execution strategy while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and precision.

In his new role, Shanmugam will implement a strategic framework to enhance delivery capabilities, including standardizing project management methodologies, optimizing staffing models, accelerating execution timelines, managing client relationships, and strengthening on-site delivery excellence across the organization.

Founded in 1998 by Dr. Sateesh Basant, Kshema Power is a Chennai-based engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm specializing in renewable energy infrastructure. The company has executed over 4.5 GW of wind energy projects and installed 1,600 km of transmission lines across various Indian states. Its services include wind and solar park development, utility-scale and rooftop solar installations, and transmission and distribution projects.
