Mindra New Energy Private Limited has announced a strategic collaboration with REPT BATTERO Energy Co. Ltd., formalized through an exclusive 1 GWh partnership signed at REPT’s headquarters in Shanghai. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by Dhairya Shah, Founder & CEO of Mindra, and Lance Zhang, Chief Strategic Officer of REPT BATTERO, marking a significant milestone in advancing India’s battery manufacturing and electrification goals.
The partnership focuses on delivering comprehensive battery solutions across three key pillars:
- Market Distribution: Sale of 150 MWh battery packs for the Indian market, positioning Mindra as a key distributor of REPT’s advanced battery systems.
- Battery Cell Supply: Supply of 850 MWh of 314 Ah battery cells to support India’s growing EV and energy storage sectors.
- Manufacturing Localization: Installation of a 1 GWh battery cell assembly line in India, employing cutting-edge auto and semi-automatic production technologies, with a 1.5-year roadmap for full-scale operations aligned with global manufacturing standards.
“This partnership exemplifies our commitment to building robust, technology-enabled battery solutions, compatible with PCS and EMS technology owned by Mindra, that will power India’s clean energy transition,” said the Mindra team. “By bringing REPT’s advanced battery technology and manufacturing excellence to India, we are contributing to a more resilient and self-sufficient EV battery ecosystem.”
The collaboration directly supports India’s goal of enhancing domestic battery production, contributing to the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. India’s battery manufacturing capacity is projected to exceed 100 GWh by 2026, with battery cell demand expected to reach 115 GWh by 2030.
REPT BATTERO, backed by the Tsingshan Group (Fortune Global 500), currently operates 90 GWh global capacity, ranking 5th in energy storage cell shipments and 2nd in household energy storage battery shipments. Combined with Mindra’s PCS/EMS technology and market presence, the partnership strengthens India’s EV and energy storage ecosystem.
Through this collaboration, both companies aim to localize manufacturing, enhance supply chain resilience, and accelerate the adoption of clean energy solutions across India, positioning the country as a hub for advanced battery technology.
