Mukesh Ambani Announces ₹7 Lakh Crore Investment in Gujarat, Emphasizes AI, Clean Energy, and Social Development

Speaking at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) in Rajkot on January 11, 2026, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, described Gujarat as the “body, heart, and soul” of Reliance.

Highlighting India’s defining decade under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ambani said, “India is not just preparing for the future- it is shaping it,” adding that global geopolitical challenges cannot deter India’s growth thanks to the “invincible protective wall called Narendra Modi.”

Ambani announced that Reliance, Gujarat’s largest investor, will double its investment from ₹3.5 lakh crore to ₹7 lakh crore by 2030, generating large-scale employment, livelihoods, and wealth creation for the region.

Transforming Gujarat into a Clean Energy and AI Hub

Ambani outlined Reliance’s clean energy ambitions, including the development of Jamnagar into the world’s largest integrated clean-energy ecosystem spanning solar power, battery storage, green hydrogen, green fertilizers, sustainable aviation fuel, maritime fuels, and advanced materials.

He said, “Jamnagar, once India’s largest hydrocarbon exporter, will become the country’s largest exporter of green energy and materials.”

Kutch is set to become a global clean-energy hub through one of the world’s largest multi-gigawatt solar projects, featuring round-the-clock storage and modern grid integration.

In technology, Reliance is building India’s largest AI-ready data center in Jamnagar and will launch a people-first AI platform to make AI services accessible in local languages across devices.

“Our goal is affordable AI for every Indian,” Ambani said.

Supporting Social and Sporting Development

Ambani committed Reliance Foundation’s support for the 2036 Olympics in Ahmedabad, partnering with the Gujarat government to manage the Veer Savarkar Multi-Sports Complex in Naranpura, envisioned as a hub for national and international sporting events and athlete training. Plans also include establishing a world-class hospital in Jamnagar and expanding educational facilities in Saurashtra.

Paying tribute to his father Dhirubhai Ambani, Ambani acknowledged Gujarat’s deep emotional significance for Reliance and reaffirmed the company’s long-term commitment to the state’s growth.

Gujarat’s Defining Role in India’s Growth

Ambani concluded by emphasizing India’s resilience amid global uncertainty, the transformative potential of Gujarat’s investments, and the industrial role of Kutch and Saurashtra in shaping India’s clean energy, AI, and economic future.
