As the year draws to a close, India’s state-run power producer NTPC has awarded multiple solar EPC contracts under its renewable energy arm, signalling a strong push to accelerate project execution and expand capacity. The recent tenders were awarded to Solarworld Energy Solutions, Vikran Engineering, and Bondada Engineering, collectively adding nearly a gigawatt of new solar capacity to NTPC’s portfolio.
Solarworld Energy Secures 250 MW EPC Contract
Solarworld Energy Solutions Limited has been awarded an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited for a 250 MWac grid-connected solar photovoltaic project. Regulatory disclosures state that the Letter of Award (LoA) covers the full scope of work, including design, procurement, and construction. The project is valued at approximately INR 725.33 crore (including taxes) and is expected to be completed within FY 2026–27.
Vikran Engineering Bags ₹459 Crore BoS Order
Vikran Engineering Limited (VEL) has received a Notification of Award (NoA) from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited for an EPC contract worth INR 459.20 crore. The project involves executing the Balance of System (BoS) package for a 400 MW (AC) grid-connected solar power project at Chitrakoot-1, Uttar Pradesh. The contract will be executed under the EPC mode and is targeted for completion within 12 months.
Bondada Engineering Wins First NTPC Order
Bondada Engineering Limited has secured its first EPC contract from NTPC, marking a significant milestone in its strategic expansion. The INR 391 crore-plus order, placed by NTPC Green Energy Limited, covers BoS works for establishing a 300 MW solar PV project at Lalitpur and includes Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services for three years after project commissioning. Following this award, Bondada Engineering’s total EPC order book has reached approximately 3.3 GW, highlighting its growing engagement in the solar EPC sector.
