Ola Electric to unveil AI-powered high-performance sports scooter on August 15, targeting India's growing premium EV market.

Ola Electric will soon enter the sports scooter market as it is set to officially launch the new scooter on August 15 at the company, Sankalp event. The announcement is accompanied by a teaser issued by the EV company that shows that the vehicle will be a sportier version of its current scooter models.

Industry informants indicate that the next sports scooter would have the latest generation of artificial intelligence applications that run on Ola Krutrim, its own artificial intelligence platform. The decision shows Ola Electric expanding strategically into a high-growth segment that has already been popularised by other models like the TVS Ntorq, Yamaha Aerox, and Aprilia SR160, among others.

Market penetration of sports scooters can be seen as a part of the overall strategy, as Ola aims to gain a foothold in the market with a wider range of electric two-wheelers, including models that target new customer segments and lead to a niche in the performance-oriented mobility services market.

Innovations featured in previous launches of its products by Ola Electric, like the Gen 3 scooter range, also included brake-by-wire systems, dual ABS, and scooters manufactured with its exclusive 4680 battery cell manufacturing technology. It is believed that the new sports scooter will make use of such advancements, taking the new sports scooter to be a type of high-performance and smart technology-integrated scooter.

By announcing this on August 15, Ola seeks to leave a solid mark in the Indian electric mobility market, at a time when demand for premium and performance electric scooters is increasing significantly.
