Onix Renewable Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat at the Vibrant Gujarat 2026 summit, marking a significant step in the company’s expansion in the renewable energy sector. The agreement outlines plans for strategic investments in Gujarat, focusing on sustainable energy projects including a green ammonia production facility and PM‑KUSUM solar initiatives, reinforcing the state’s vision for clean and low-carbon energy development.
Green Ammonia Facility in Rajkot
As part of the MoU, Onix Renewable intends to establish a green ammonia production plant in Rajkot district, leveraging renewable energy sources to produce environmentally friendly ammonia. This facility is expected to contribute to the decarbonisation of industrial processes and support India’s growing hydrogen economy. The project aligns with national and state-level objectives to reduce carbon emissions while promoting the adoption of green technologies in industrial applications.
PM-KUSUM Solar Projects
In addition to the ammonia facility, the MoU covers the implementation of PM-KUSUM Component-C solar projects, aimed at expanding solar capacity in Gujarat. These projects will support decentralized renewable energy generation, increase grid stability, and enhance local energy security. By integrating solar energy solutions, Onix Renewable plans to strengthen the state’s renewable infrastructure while providing affordable clean energy to rural and semi-urban communities.
Commitment to Sustainable Growth
The MoU reflects Onix Renewable’s commitment to sustainable growth and strategic partnerships with government bodies to advance renewable energy adoption. Through this collaboration, the company aims to accelerate the deployment of clean energy solutions while contributing to India’s energy transition and climate action goals.
Significance for Gujarat’s Renewable Energy Landscape
The partnership between Onix Renewable and the Gujarat government is expected to create new opportunities for employment, technological advancement, and investment in the clean energy sector. By focusing on green ammonia and solar energy projects, the initiative supports Gujarat’s broader renewable energy strategy and aligns with India’s national targets for renewable capacity expansion and carbon neutrality.
With the successful signing of the MoU, Onix Renewable positions itself as a key player in Gujarat’s clean energy ecosystem, driving sustainable projects that contribute to economic growth, energy security, and environmental stewardship.
