Pace Digitek Limited, a provider of telecom infrastructure and energy solutions, has announced that its material subsidiary, Lineage Power Private Limited, has secured a substantial Advance Purchase Order (APO) valued at ₹943.5 million (approximately ₹94.35 crore) from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for the supply of advanced lithium‑ion battery systems.
Order Scope and Delivery Timeline
Under the contract, Lineage Power will supply, install, commission and support maintenance of 25,000 lithium‑ion battery modules of 100 Ah/48 V capacity, along with 2,500 IP55‑rated weather‑resistant racks suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments. These battery systems are intended to strengthen BSNL’s 48 V DC power infrastructure across its nationwide telecom network, enhancing reliability and uptime.
The project’s execution is planned over a five‑month period from the date of receipt of the purchase order, and the contract includes a five‑year warranty on the supplied equipment followed by a five‑year Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC). All battery modules come equipped with an integrated smart Battery Management System (BMS), registered on the Trusted Telecom Portal and compliant with the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) General Requirements standards.
Strategic Importance for Telecom Power Infrastructure
Commenting on the development, Venugopal Rao Maddisetty, Chairman and Managing Director of Pace Digitek Limited, said that the extended order from BSNL represents a key milestone in modernising Lineage Power’s core infrastructure. He added that the transition to advanced lithium‑ion technology will significantly improve energy efficiency at telecom sites and bolster network uptime across India, supporting secure and stable connectivity.
Maddisetty also highlighted that this strategic order aligns with the government’s “Make in India” initiative by deploying trusted, world‑class technology developed domestically. He noted that the order is expected to strengthen Pace Digitek’s position in the telecom power solutions segment, boost its near‑term order book visibility, generate long‑term service revenue through post‑warranty maintenance, and deepen engagement with BSNL, a key public sector customer.
Supporting India’s Telecom Power Needs
The BSNL order underscores the growing demand for efficient, reliable power backup solutions in the telecom sector as network operators strive to maintain service continuity amid rising energy challenges. Lithium‑ion battery technology, with its higher energy density, longer life cycles, and improved performance over traditional lead‑acid batteries, is increasingly preferred for critical power support in telecom and other infrastructure applications.
The contract win follows similar successes for Lineage Power and reflects Pace Digitek’s expanding footprint in energy storage and telecom power infrastructure markets.
