Range‑X, the battery manufacturing unit of Kinetic India, rolled out its first Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery from its Ahilya Nagar plant on September 25, 2025. The AIS 156 certified unit will power the Kinetic DX EV, marking a landmark moment for India’s EV manufacturing sector.
The new LFP batteries have an intelligent Battery Management System (BMS), and provide 2,000 to 3,000 charge cycles, and a higher thermal stability. Their stable lithium-ion cell chemistry is designed in a safe, long-lasting, and sustainable manner.
The production is performed at a fully automated IoT-provided facility including POKE-YOKE-based systems and phase-by-phase quality control. First, these batteries will be used in the Kinetic DX EV and it is planned to use them in other electric two and three-wheelers.
“These first batteries rolling off our production line represent more than just a milestone for Range‑X — they signify the backbone of the Kinetic DX EV and the next wave of clean mobility in India. With AIS 156 certification, Range‑X delivers on its promise of combining durability, safety, and sustainability in every battery we produce,” said Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman, Kinetic India.
These environmentally-friendly battery solutions will respond to the growing demand of electric two- and three-wheelers in India with Range-X.
