Rishi Shrivastava Appointed Head of Sasan Coal Mines at Reliance Power

Reliance Power Limited has named Rishi Shrivastava Head of the Sasan Coal Mines, which is a big step up in his 28-year career in coal mining. He is now in charge of one of India’s largest coal mining projects, which is based in Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh. He is in charge of making sure that operations run smoothly, that safety is maintained, that the environment is protected, and that production growth is sustainable.

Proven Leadership in Mining Operations

Rishi Shrivastava has progressed through several key leadership roles at Reliance Power Limited, including Mine Agent (AVP), Mines Manager, General Manager (Operations), and Deputy General Manager. His promotion reflects the company’s confidence in his ability to manage both greenfield and brownfield mining projects with strategic precision and efficiency.

Extensive Industry Experience

Before joining Reliance Power Limited, Shrivastava held senior positions at Jindal Steel Ltd. & Power Limited (JSPL). He began his career at Coal India Limited (WCL Chandrapur), gaining a solid foundation in mine operations, regulatory frameworks, and safety practices. Over nearly three decades, he has built expertise in strategic planning, budgeting, productivity improvement, and team leadership, consistently achieving higher safety and profitability benchmarks.

Commitment to Operational Excellence

Shrivastava’s new job at Sasan Coal Mines is to improve governance, make operations more efficient, and get the most out of the company’s resources. His hiring shows that Reliance Power is committed to sustainable growth, strict safety rules, and responsible environmental management in large-scale mining operations.

Industry Impact

Sasan Coal Mines is a very important part of India’s coal production. Under Shrivastava’s leadership, the company is likely to improve operational standards, safety protocols, and strategic development, which will help the company reach its long-term growth goals.

A company spokesperson said, “His promotion is a result of Rishi Shrivastava’s extensive experience and proven track record in managing complex mining operations, ensuring operational excellence and sustainable production.”
