GST Council Slashes Tax on Renewable Energy Equipment to 5%, Boosting India’s Clean Energy Push

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has awarded Saatvik Green Energy Limited with a Letter of Award (LoA) to install 1,500 solar water pumping systems under the Magel Tyala Saur Krishi Pump Yojana (MTSKPY) / PM-Kusum-B Scheme in the year 2025-2026.

The project would be deployed in various districts in Maharashtra and comprise 3HP, 5HP, and 7.5HP DC solar submersible pump sets.

The off-grid DC solar PV water pumping systems will be designed, manufactured, supplied, transported, installed, tested, and commissioned on-site by Saatvik Green Energy Limited as part of the contract.

The agreement also provides a five-year warranty, repair and maintenance, and a remote monitoring system (RMS) to maintain performance and customer satisfaction of the system long-term.

Commenting on this achievement, Mr. Prashant Mathur, CEO of Saatvik Green Energy Limited, stated, “We are honored to collaborate with MSEDCL on this vital initiative. Solar-powered irrigation not only enhances water access for farmers but also aligns with India’s broader vision of sustainable and self-reliant agriculture.”

This project represents a major milestone for Saatvik in the solar agriculture sector and builds on its previous ventures into solar pumping solutions in Maharashtra.
