A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was executed between the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, on 21.11.2025 in New Delhi.
Under this MoU, SECI will facilitate the installation of grid-connected rooftop solar PV power plants across all MEA buildings in India under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. This collaboration marks a significant step toward expanding clean energy adoption within government infrastructure and advancing India’s national solar mission.
The MoU was formally signed and exchanged by Shri Anand Prakash, Director (Establishment), MEA, and Shri Manas Ranjan Mishra, Deputy General Manager (Solar), SECI, on behalf of their respective organizations.
Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI) is a CPSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), set up on 20th September 2011 to facilitate the implementation of NSM and achievement of targets set therein. It is the only CPSU dedicated to the solar energy sector.
However, through a Government of India decision, the company has recently been converted into a Section-3 company under the Companies Act, 2013. The mandate of the company has also been broadened to cover the entire renewable energy domain.
