SECI and PTC India Sign MoU to Strengthen Renewable Energy and Storage Collaboration

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and PTC India Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration across renewable energy integration, battery energy storage systems (BESS), structured power products, and the joint development of large-scale renewable and storage projects. The strategic agreement aims to bolster India’s renewable energy ecosystem by facilitating seamless grid integration of renewables and storage, improving market-based power solutions, and enhancing overall system flexibility.

Strategic Collaboration for Renewable Energy Growth

The MoU sets the foundation for coordinated efforts between SECI and PTC India in several key areas, including:

  • Grid integration of renewable energy projects
  • Development and deployment of large-scale BESS
  • Structured power product solutions for electricity markets
  • Joint development of utility-scale renewable and hybrid storage projects

This partnership is expected to accelerate India’s transition to a more flexible, reliable, and market-responsive power system.

Signing Ceremony and Key Representatives

The MoU was exchanged by Shri Akash Tripathi, IAS, Managing Director of SECI, and Shri Jhabar Singh, Chairman & Managing Director of PTC India Limited. The event was attended by senior officials including Shri Sanjay Sharma, Director (Solar), SECI; Shri Joshit Ranjan Sikidar, Director (Finance), SECI; and Shri Sivakumar V Vepakomma, Director (Power Systems), SECI, alongside key executives from PTC India.

The official signing was carried out by Shri Prashant Soni, Deputy General Manager (Project Management), SECI, and Shri Bikram Singh, Executive Director (Marketing), PTC India Limited, formalizing the collaborative framework.

Strengthening India’s RE Ecosystem

This collaboration marks a significant step toward enhancing India’s renewable energy and storage landscape. By combining SECI’s project development and grid management expertise with PTC India’s market operations and financial capabilities, the MoU is expected to enable innovative solutions for integrating renewables into India’s power grid.

Both organizations emphasized that the partnership will focus on improving system flexibility, ensuring reliable power supply, and promoting market-based mechanisms to support India’s clean energy transition. The initiative is expected to contribute meaningfully to India’s goal of achieving a resilient and sustainable energy future.
