SECI Signs MoU with IPGCL and PPCL to Collaborate on Renewable Energy Projects

The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indraprastha Power Generation Company Limited (IPGCL) and Pragati Power Corporation Limited (PPCL) to collaborate in the renewable energy sector and allied areas. The agreement marks an important step towards strengthening cooperation among the three public sector entities in support of India’s clean energy and sustainability goals.

The MoU was signed on 9 December 2025 and provides a framework for a strategic partnership focused on exploring and implementing renewable energy projects across multiple segments. These include solar energy, energy storage systems, and emerging clean energy technologies. Through this collaboration, the organisations aim to combine their expertise and capabilities to accelerate the development of renewable energy infrastructure.

As per the agreement, the scope of collaboration will include project conceptualisation and feasibility studies, technical support and knowledge sharing, and the identification and development of suitable renewable energy projects. The partnership is intended to facilitate systematic planning and execution of projects that contribute to a cleaner and more reliable energy ecosystem.

The MoU was signed on behalf of SECI by “Shri Sivakumar V Vepakomma, Director (Power Systems), SECI”, in the august presence of “Shri Akash Tripathi, Managing Director, SECI”, along with other senior officials of the organisation. Representing IPGCL and PPCL, the MoU was signed by “Shri Amit Ahuja, Director (Technical)”, in the presence of senior officials from IPGCL and PPCL, including “Dr. Rajendra Kumar Yadav, GM (Green Energy)”.

This collaboration is expected to strengthen India’s commitment to building a sustainable and reliable energy future. By working together, the three organisations aim to support the diversification of energy portfolios for IPGCL and PPCL, enabling a gradual transition towards cleaner sources of power generation. At the same time, the partnership reinforces SECI’s role as the nodal agency for renewable energy development in the country.

The association underscores a shared commitment to leveraging institutional expertise, fostering innovation, and supporting the deployment of advanced clean energy solutions. SECI, IPGCL, and PPCL will work closely to ensure effective coordination and implementation of renewable energy initiatives aligned with national priorities.

Through this MoU, the three entities have reiterated their intent to contribute meaningfully to India’s energy transition objectives by promoting sustainable development, enhancing energy security, and supporting the growth of renewable energy capacity across the country.
