Tata Motors Expands XPRES Fleet Portfolio with Petrol and Twin-Cylinder CNG Variants

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) has broadened its XPRES fleet portfolio with the launch of new petrol and twin-cylinder CNG variants, strengthening its presence in India’s commercial passenger segment beyond electric mobility. These new options aim to offer fleet operators versatile and cost-effective choices tailored to real-world operational needs.

New Powertrain Options for Fleet Customers

The newly introduced XPRES Petrol variant carries an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹5.59 lakh, while the XPRES CNG begins at ₹6.59 lakh in Delhi. Bookings for both variants have opened across authorised fleet dealerships nationwide. Tata Motors has positioned this launch as a key move within its multi-powertrain strategy, building on the success of the existing XPRES EV.

Both the petrol and CNG models are powered by Tata’s 1.2-litre Revotron engine paired with a manual transmission, engineered for durability and high-usage fleet operations. The CNG version stands out with a first-in-segment 70-litre (water capacity) twin-cylinder fuel tank, which the company says delivers extended range while preserving usable boot space a long-standing concern for fleet operators.

Practical Design and Operational Edge

The intelligent twin-cylinder configuration allows the XPRES CNG to offer uncompromised luggage capacity, addressing a key operational challenge for taxi and fleet operators. Meanwhile, the petrol variant boasts a 419-litre boot space, claimed to be the largest in the petrol fleet sedan segment, making it ideal for airport transfers, intercity travel, and services that demand significant luggage capacity.

Tata Motors is offering a standard warranty of three years or 1,00,000 kilometres, extendable up to five years or 1,80,000 kilometres, along with tailored finance solutions designed to lower the total cost of ownership for fleet customers. The company also claims a low maintenance cost of ₹0.47 per kilometre, adding further appeal for high-utilisation operations.

Dedicated Fleet Support Infrastructure

To support the expanded portfolio, TMPV has established exclusive fleet-focused dealerships in select cities, providing dedicated sales and service infrastructure for commercial operators. The enhanced XPRES range now available in electric, petrol, and CNG powertrains aims to address a wide variety of segments including cab aggregators, employee transport, rent-a-car services, airport transfers, and tourist taxis.
