Tata Power Solaroof Crosses 1 GW Rooftop Installations in First Nine Months of FY26

Tata Power Solaroof, the rooftop solar solutions arm of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), has achieved a major milestone by adding 1 GWp of installed rooftop solar capacity within the first nine months of FY26. With a full-year target of 1.4 GWp, the company is on track to deliver its highest-ever profitability and revenue from the rooftop solar business.

The strong operational performance has translated into record financial results. Profit after tax (PAT) rose sharply to ₹123 crore in Q2 FY26, marking a 390% year-on-year increase. On a half-year basis, PAT stood at ₹213 crore. Revenue momentum also accelerated, with rooftop solar sales surpassing ₹1,000 crore in a single quarter for the first time in Q2, a level the company is expected to exceed in Q3 based on current trends.

According to the company, growth was driven by both residential and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) rooftop solar segments. During the nine-month period, Tata Power Solaroof completed over 1.7 lakh rooftop installations, registering a robust 345% year-on-year growth compared to 38,494 installations during the same period in FY25.

Strong State-wise Performance

In terms of installations over the past nine months, Uttar Pradesh emerged as the top-performing state, with 30,857 installations and an installed capacity of 128.13 MWp. Maharashtra followed with 21,044 installations totaling 126.33 MWp, while Gujarat recorded 18,907 installations and the highest installed capacity at 143.02 MWp. Telangana added 14,622 installations, contributing 62.08 MWp.

From a cumulative capacity perspective, Maharashtra led with 41,827 installations delivering 855.21 MWp, followed by Gujarat with 31,624 installations aggregating 525.81 MWp. Tamil Nadu added 8,633 installations totaling 318.35 MWp, while Chhattisgarh contributed 8,068 installations with a cumulative capacity of 285.62 MWp. These figures highlight the company’s strong execution capabilities and expanding footprint across key rooftop solar markets in India.

Record Installations in Q3 FY26

During the October–December quarter (Q3 FY26), Tata Power Solaroof achieved another milestone by completing 58,476 rooftop solar installations. This represents a 242% year-on-year increase compared to 17,092 installations in Q3 FY25.

During the same period, the company onboarded 1.7 lakh new customers across residential, commercial, and industrial segments, including rooftop and ground-mounted solar solutions. This expansion has taken Tata Power Solaroof’s total customer base beyond 3 lakh, with cumulative installed capacity exceeding 4 GWp.

Tata Power Solaroof operates across India with the support of a robust network of over 650 channel partners, reinforcing its position as one of the country’s leading rooftop solar solution providers and a key contributor to India’s clean energy transition.
