Tata Technologies’ WATTSync Platform Ready for India’s Battery Aadhaar Compliance

Tata Technologies, the global product engineering and digital services leader, has declared that its platform in the field of Battery Intelligence, ‘WATTSync,’ is fully geared up to comply with the new ‘Battery Aadhaar’ regulations that are all set to be rolled out in India, while still adhering to the new EU Battery Regulation.

As India introduces a unified, QR-code-enabled Battery Aadhaar framework to enhance visibility, compliance, and sustainability across battery lifecycles, WATTSync’s architecture, data model, and integration capabilities make it a future-ready solution for manufacturers and ecosystem partners.

“WATTSync’s platform is designed to support India’s mandated 21-character Battery Pack Aadhaar Number (BPAN), enabling stakeholders to generate, manage, and integrate unique battery identifiers across production, operations, and end-of-life workflows,” a Tata Technologies spokesperson said. “Our solution mirrors global digital battery passport requirements, ensuring interoperability across markets.”

Platform Capabilities:

  • QR Code Digital Identity: Enables authorized access to static and dynamic battery information, in compliance with authentication and verification standards in India and Europe.
  • Comprehensive Data Management: Includes manufacturer IDs, battery descriptors, chemistry, material composition, carbon footprint, and sustainability.
  • Dynamic Data Integration: It interacts with Battery Management Systems (BMS) to obtain State of Health, charge/discharge cycles, thermal activities, and operational states.
  • Lifecycle Tracking: Helps track batteries from their manufacture, through repairs and repurposing, to recycling, promoting a circular economy as mandated by regulation.
  • AI-Driven Analytics: Predictive Maintenance, Thermal Anomaly Detection, Remaining Useful Life, and Performance Risk Profiling.
  • Secure Access Control: Role-Based Access Control provides controlled visibility to manufacturers, suppliers, recyclers, regulators, and auditors.
  • Government Integration: The integration of authorized central servers with APIs for exchanging information also provides traceability and auditability.
  • ACC-PLI_scheme_support: Offers secure documentation for the origin of the cell to increase transparency and check supply chain fraud.

WATTSync’s India-ready features combined with global compliance make Tata Technologies a strategic partner in building trusted, sustainable, and future-ready battery ecosystems, supporting both domestic manufacturing growth and international standards in safety, reliability, and environmental responsibility.
