Tata Power has collaborated with R CITY, Mumbai’s iconic shopping and entertainment destination, to deploy 8 chargers, including super-fast 60 kW charging points, across the mall’s premises.

R CITYEV owners can choose to do either quick top-ups on the go or substantial charging during long shopping trips, based on their requirements.

The charging stations at R CITY mall, located in the central Mumbai suburb of Ghatkopar on LBS Road, will offer green mobility solutions for both four- and two-wheeled passenger vehicles.

The association is a step towards making sustainable mobility choices available to all and boosting EV adoption in the state.

This aligns with Tata Power’s goal of making EV charging simple and hassle-free by setting up charging points at strategic locations that are visited regularly by customers.

Enabling EV charging in public, highly-trafficked locations make adopting EVs more convenient, while reducing range anxiety for drivers.

“We are delighted to collaborate with R CITY to make EV charging solutions easily accessible to EV owners in Mumbai. We believe that a large-scale transition to clean mobility can only be attained through a robust and expansive network of EV charging points. Tata Power has taken the lead in setting up EV charging points across the country thus contributing towards faster adoption of Electric Vehicle,” said, Virendra Goyal, Head of Business Development (EV Charging), Tata Power.

Ashish Bhandari, Head-Mall Operations, said, “Our valuable partnership with Tata Power is a constructive green measure to initiate a movement that will bring about a paradigm change in the EV industry with the use of sustainable charging infrastructure. This discerned initiative is in line with our belief in reducing the carbon footprint of the environment for a sustainable and energy-efficient future. This association with Tata Power will help us achieve our sustainability goals by efficiently rolling out easily accessible EV charging solutions, for EV owners.”

The company has energized 3000+ public and semi-public chargers and 30000+ residential chargers, many of which are equipped with fast-charging technology and are located at strategic locations such as malls, hotels, airports, and office complexes.

Tata Power is creating partnerships across industries to enable smooth transitions to clean mobility, starting with setting up multiple charging stations. Tata Power’s commitment to creating an EV-enabling infrastructure is in line with the Government of India’s National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP), which aims to develop electric vehicle charging infrastructure using the latest technology platform along with easy access to charging points.

The company also collaborated with the National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) last year to install up to 5,000 EV charging points across its member’s developer properties in Maharashtra.

Its award-winning mobile app, Tata Power EZ Charge, ensures a seamless user experience with features that help commuters find the nearest charging station, know the real-time availability of charging points and receive updates on charging status, among others.
