Upcell has announced that its Advisory Board has been established. The Advisory Board, which is made up of prominent professionals from academia, industry, policy, and finance, will assist Upcell in advancing its goal of enhancing battery production capacities worldwide and promoting innovation throughout the value chain.
Due to the increasing demand for global cooperation, Upcell, which was first established in Europe in 2022 as the European Battery Manufacturing Alliance, is currently developing throughout Asia and America. Adopting a “global with local-for-local” strategy, Upcell encourages the development of local ecosystems while fostering the flow of information across regions.
Thus, Upcell’s leadership will get strategic direction from the Advisory Board about technology, worldwide collaboration, and market trends. Upcell’s long-term vision and operational plan will be greatly influenced by the collective and globally represented skills.
“We are honored to bring together such a distinguished group of leaders who share our ambition for a sustainable and battery-powered future,” stated Claude Laperiere, President at Upcell Alliance. “Their guidance will be instrumental as we scale our initiatives and build a connected, world-class ecosystem.”
Prof. Jamal Saghir is the chair of the Upcell Advisory Board, which will support important projects like the recent launch of Upcell Turnkey Solutions, fortify the network, and inform strategy.
Prof. Jamal Saghir attached, “Upcell is an important player for supporting and speeding up the growth of the battery manufacturing industry which is now at its critical juncture. The Advisory Board will provide strategic advice and critical thinking; advance ideas or innovations that haven’t yet had the opportunity to surface; and support Upcell’s goals and growth.”

- Prof. Jamal Saghir, Former Director of the World Bank, current Professor of Practice at McGill University (Chair of the Board)
- Gwenaelle Avice Huet, Executive Vice President of Europe Operations at Schneider Electric
