Blueleaf Energy & Jakson Green Announce Financial Close on 840 MWp of Rajasthan Solar Projects

Websol Energy System Limited has commenced commercial production at its expanded solar cell manufacturing facility in Falta, West Bengal. This new addition contributes 600 MW of capacity, effectively doubling the company’s total solar cell production to 1.2 GW.

The new line which has been commissioned, Phase II of the continuing expansion plan of Websol, is dedicated to producing Mono PERC solar cells. This is developed after the company announced on September 1, 2025, its decision to expand operations. It underlines the interest of Websol to achieve the implementation of its long-term vision and to respond to the increasing India need in solar components.

The expansion is fully financed using in-house sources, and this shows that Websol has good financial underpinnings and good capital management. The additional capacity also allows Websol to provide more comprehensive solutions since the added capacity allows them to integrate more with their current 550 MW line of solar modules based at the Falta plant.

The cell and module lines already in place were temporarily shutdown in the quarter as part of the process of commissioning, and therefore has a one-time revenue effect on Q2 of FY2026. Normal operation has taken place and the new 600 MW line is operating in full.

Commenting on the achievement, Sohan Lal Agarwal, Managing Director of Websol Energy System Limited, stated, “This expansion marks a significant step forward in Websol’s growth strategy. With this new 600 MW line, we are deepening our commitment to developing an end-to-end, high-efficiency solar manufacturing ecosystem in India. The added capacity positions us to better serve the domestic market and supports the Government’s mission of building a self-reliant clean energy sector.”

Being one of the first organization to enter the sphere of photovoltaic manufacturing in India, Websol still focuses on high-efficiency Mono PERC. It mainly sells its solar cells to domestic module manufacturers, which helps them to meet Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) requirements. Moreover, Websol solar modules are sold not only in India, but also globally with a large clientele.
