The world’s first 400 MWh energy storage station, powered by 628Ah ultra-large battery cells, officially opened for business on January 31, 2026. This was a big step forward for the global energy storage industry. The project is a big step forward for large-format battery technology and putting energy storage on the grid.
The facility has 80 sets of “Mr. Giant” minimalist integrated 5 MWh DC energy storage systems and 40 integrated power conversion cabins. The successful commissioning marks the end of EVE Energy’s early technology exploration and the start of full-scale grid validation. This is a strong foundation for high-quality industry growth.
Large Battery Technology Proven at Grid Scale
This project is part of the Ruite New Energy Lingshou 200 MW/400 MWh energy storage station. It shows that 628Ah large battery technology can work reliably in big applications that are connected to the grid. EVE Energy has been the first company in the industry to announce, mass-produce, and use this technology on a large scale.
To date, cumulative production of the 628Ah cells has exceeded one million units, demonstrating both manufacturing readiness and product maturity. This achievement validates the technology’s suitability for long-duration, high-capacity energy storage projects.
Safety, Efficiency, and Cost Optimization
The system integrates EVE Energy’s inherently safe cell technology combined with a minimalist system design. Key innovations include advanced stacking processes and high-toughness separators, which improve safety performance while optimizing the Levelized Cost of Storage (LCOS).
These design improvements help meet the industry’s core requirements for high safety, strong efficiency, and long operational life, making the solution well-suited for future grid-scale deployments.
Strategic 10 GWh Partnership Strengthens Growth Outlook
EVE Energy has also signed a 10 GWh strategic cooperation agreement with Guowang Technology, which turns their relationship from working on separate projects to a long-term, stable partnership. The deal is mostly about deploying on a large scale and building a shared ecosystem, which will help both companies grow in the future.
Driving the Global Energy Transition
EVE Energy is positioning itself as both a technology innovator and ecosystem builder as competition in the energy storage sector moves away from pure scale and toward technology leadership and system value. The business wants to make big batteries even better while also growing its ability to make, service, and work with other companies around the world.
Through continued open collaboration, EVE Energy aims to broaden reliable energy storage applications worldwide and contribute to the global transition toward a clean, low-carbon energy system.
