ACME Solar Holdings Ltd. has won a 50 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project at the tariff of ₹4.43 per unit. This is one of the 250 MW FDRE tenders floated by the distribution unit of Tata Power Company Limited, Tata Power-D, a licensed electricity distribution company under Tata Power.
The tender FDRE was conducted according to tariff-based competitive bidding principles and was closed down by the e-reverse auction on August 13, 2025. ACME Solar will need to sustain a minimum Capacity Utilization Factor of 40 percent per year and have four hours of peak hour capacity with 90 percent availability monthly. The combination of solar energy and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) will enable ACME Solar to fulfill these supply commitments via a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with commissioning scheduled within 24 months of signing.
The significance of this Dispatchable Renewable Energy project to the Indian clean energy transition is that it provides a reliable energy source that is predictable and can respond to the intermittency of renewable sources. With the inclusion of storage options, these projects help to stabilize the grid and provide full-time electricity.
ACME Solar Holdings is one of the top integrated renewable energy firms in India, with an installed capacity of 2,890 MW of solar, wind, hybrid, storage, and FDRE. The company has an excellent in-house EPC and O&M capacity that ensures the delivery of the projects on time and at a low cost, maintaining record-breaking performance rates in the industry.
