Advait Energy Transitions Limited has announced that its subsidiary, Advait BESS Bhesaan Private Limited, has been awarded a Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA) by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL).
The agreement has been awarded under GUVNL’s Phase-VIII tender for the development of a 150 MW / 300 MWh Standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Project. The project represents a significant addition to the company’s battery energy storage portfolio and reinforces its participation in India’s growing energy storage sector.
The contract is a Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA) and will govern the development and execution of the project. The agreement has been awarded in India and is classified as a domestic contract.
The project will be developed in the vicinity of the 220 kV Bhesan AIS substation of Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation (GETCO) and will be designed to provide reliable, dispatchable energy storage capacity to support Gujarat’s evolving power infrastructure. Under the terms of the agreement, Advait BESS Bhesaan Private Limited will develop, own and operate the project and make the contracted storage capacity available to GUVNL on a long-term basis. The BESPA has a tenure of 12 years from the effective date of signing.
The company has also confirmed that neither the promoter, promoter group, nor group companies have any interest in the entity awarding the contract. Furthermore, the contract does not fall within the ambit of a related-party transaction.
Commenting on the development, Vatsal Kundalia, Director of Operations, Advait Energy Transitions Limited, said, “Battery energy storage is becoming one of the most critical building blocks of India’s clean energy future. This project represents an important step in our journey to build scalable energy transition infrastructure that supports grid resilience and renewable energy integration. We are pleased to partner with GUVNL on this strategic initiative and remain committed to delivering reliable, future-ready energy solutions that contribute to India’s long-term sustainability goals.”
With the award of this Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement, Advait BESS Bhesaan Private Limited will undertake the development of the standalone battery energy storage project under the framework established by GUVNL. The project will be executed under the terms specified in the BESPA and is scheduled to remain operational under the agreement for a 12-year period from the effective signing date.
The announcement was made in accordance with the disclosure requirements under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015.
