The solar plant was formally inaugurated by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, underscoring the state government’s commitment to expanding renewable energy capacity and reducing dependence on conventional power sources. The 70 MW Dhubri Solar Project was implemented by SGEL, a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN Limited, under a tariff discovered through a competitive bidding process. Once fully operational, the plant is expected to generate over 100 million units of electricity annually, contributing significantly to the state’s power supply.
