Ather Achieves a significant milestone in EV in India
As Co-founder and CTO of Ather Energy, Swopnil Jain was proud of the innovation and quality-based growth that the company has followed.
“Crossing 5,00,000 scooters is a major milestone for Ather. From our very first prototype to today, our journey has been about building not just vehicles, but a scalable, reliable, and consistent manufacturing ecosystem. This achievement reflects years of focused engineering, rigorous testing, and meticulous attention to quality at every stage of production. It also highlights the dedication of teams across the company and the trust and support of our owner community,” Jain said.
Ather Energy has consistently been one of the most reliable brands of E-scooter in India since its inception, with a good array of performance-based and family-friendly electric vehicles. The Ather Rizta, in particular, has played a significant role in enhancing the growth of the company by registering a large percentage of more than a third of the total production in a span of only one year since its introduction.
Increasing the Production Facility in Maharashtra
Ather has two state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Hosur, including a vehicle assembly and a battery assembly, which assemble420,000 scooters annually.
To meet the growing number of consumers and gain a larger national presence, Ather is building its third and most modern manufacturing facility, Factory 3.0, in Bidkin, AURIC, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.
Facility 3.0 will be constructed under the concepts of Industry 4.0 and will be equipped with the latest digital technologies, high levels of automation, and smart manufacturing to be more scaled and efficient. The plant will be built in two stages and after it is operational, it is projected to increase the total production capacity of Ather to 1.42 million electric two-wheelers a year.
Enhancing Market presence in India
As it increases its capacity to manufacture, Ather Energy is expanding its retail and services network across India, focusing on Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities as well as the major urban centers. The objective of this strategy is to bring electric mobility to a larger population through ensuring that the strategy also serves the purpose of clean energy and sustainable transportation in India.
The continued innovation, quality determination and growth plans make Ather one of the major participating players in the transformation of EV in India, and it makes the nation shift towards a greener and more sustainable future.
