Australian Premium Solar (India) Limited (APS), which is one of the top indigenous solar solution providers in India, has reported a commencement of commercial production in its new 400 MW TopCon Solar Module facility in Sabarkantha, Gujarat. This has been achieved after the production trials were successful, and it has been a milestone of significant increase in the total solar module capacity of APS to 800 MW.
The new line with state-of-the-art high-efficiency equipment puts APS at the head of the few completely integrated solar manufacturing companies in India with the capability to mass-produce next-generation TopCon modules.
It will be the initial step in the larger capacity expansion plan of APS, and another 400 MW line will be commissioned in April of 2026. The increased capacity will help APS to satisfy the rising domestic and global demand for high-efficiency solar modules to serve utility, commercial, and rooftop projects.
Enhancing Backward Integration in Solar Cell Manufacturing
APS is also entering solar cell manufacturing as part of its long-term growth and vertical integration strategy and intends to open a 4 GW TOPCon solar cell plant in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The project will be rolled out in phases, of which the 1 GW step will be operational within a period of 18 to 24 months.
This retrogressive integration move will dramatically improve the manufacturing efficiency and competitiveness of APS on cost since the solar cells will form almost 40 percent of the total module price. The first phase is expected to bring a revenue of 650750 crore with an EBITDA margin of 2530 percent in its first year of operation. This intervention will further make APS a fully integrated solar solutions provider.
Mr. Nikunjkumar Chimanlal Patel, Chairman & Executive Director, stated, “The successful launch of our 400 MW TopCon line marks a pivotal moment in our growth journey. Along with scaling our solar water pump portfolio, this expansion is expected to drive a 75% revenue CAGR over FY25–26, reflecting our strong growth momentum. We remain committed to innovation, operational excellence, and contributing to India’s renewable energy ecosystem.”
