Battery and energy storage stocks in India displayed a mixed performance on July 16, as the sector cooled off following a strong rally the previous day. While optimism surrounding domestic manufacturing, clean energy, and EV deployment continues to support long-term sentiment, selective profit booking weighed on a few high performers.
Waaree Technologies extended its upward momentum, soaring 4.99% to close at ₹311.3. Sustained investor interest in solar-integrated battery solutions and potential project pipeline visibility likely supported the rally. Tata Power also advanced 2.67% to ₹414.7, gaining from its expanding presence in battery energy storage and grid solutions.
On the other hand, CLN Energy Ltd., which led Monday’s surge, dropped 3.37% to ₹610, indicating short-term profit booking. Eveready Industries India Ltd. declined 3.92%, erasing its July 15 gains amid muted institutional interest.
Indo-National Ltd. rose 0.81%, while HBL Engineering Ltd. and Amara Raja Energy were largely flat, closing at ₹606.05 and ₹986.15 respectively. Panasonic Energy India and High Energy Batteries corrected by 1.13% and 1.82%, respectively, suggesting short-term caution.
Despite today’s mixed moves, the medium- to long-term outlook for battery players remains intact, backed by policy clarity under the PLI scheme, grid-scale storage demand, and the EV ecosystem’s momentum.
