Ceigall India Limited has bagged an important renewable energy deal as it has been awarded the Letter of Award (LoA), which was dated 9 February 2026, by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL). The award was based on the development of Unit 1, which had the capacity of 220 MW located at the Morena Solar Park in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
The project is awarded through a competitive tariff-based bid, and it is a solar power project with a capacity of 220 MW integrated with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Ceigall India quoted a tariff rate of ₹2.70 per kWh for this power project. The total value for this power project is estimated at approximately ₹1,700 crore, including GST.
Project Scope and Timeline
It is expected to be completed in 24 months and would operate for 25 years. When commissioned, the project would add significantly to Madhya Pradesh’s renewable energy capacity and contribute towards India’s larger clean energy and decarbonisation objectives.
Morena Solar Park is one of the important renewable energy projects in the region and has been designed to provide greater grid stability using energy storage technologies. The inclusion of a Battery Energy Storage System, together with the solar energy generation system, will result in efficient peak power management.
Company Perspective
Commenting on the development, Ramneek Sehgal, Chairman & Managing Director, Ceigall India Limited, said:
“We are pleased to secure the 220 MW Solar and BESS project at Morena Solar Park from Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited. As India progresses toward its 500 GW non-fossil capacity target, integrated solar and storage solutions are essential for delivering reliable, dispatchable renewable power. This project strengthens our presence in the clean energy segment, and we are committed to executing it efficiently while supporting India’s energy transition and decarbonisation objectives.”
Strategic Significance
This new order is the latest addition to reinforcing Ceigall India’s increasing order book and is seen as a strategic move towards the company’s foray into large-scale renewable energy infra projects. While traditionally the company had been associated with transportation infra projects, the increasing association with the clean and green energy sphere is in line with the company’s vision to contribute to nation-building in the sphere of both energy and infra segments.
With this project, Ceigall India strengthens its role in supporting India’s transition toward a more sustainable and resilient energy system.
