Covestro India Private Limited has secured Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) Tier 2 certification from the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Government of India. The recognition highlights the company’s strong customs compliance standards and robust supply-chain security practices.
For Covestro (India) AEO T2 brings concrete operational advantages: priority customs processing, Direct Port Delivery and Direct Port Entry for eligible consignments, reduced bank guarantee requirements, and an extended duty deferral period of up to 30 days following the Union Budget 2026–27 proposal and subsequent notification. For customers, this means shipments arrive faster and with fewer disruptions, a significant advantage for manufacturers running on lean or just-in-time schedules. Together, these measures make Covestro India’s cross-border supply chain more predictable, cost-efficient and reliable for everyone in the chain.

The AEO programme is a trade-facilitation initiative administered by the Directorate of International Customs under CBIC, recognising businesses with established standards of customs compliance and supply-chain security. Its three-tier framework – T1, T2 and T3 – offers progressively enhanced facilitation, with T2 reserved for organisations that demonstrate mature, verifiable compliance controls. The programme is aligned with international trusted-trader frameworks and is designed to facilitate secure, efficient cross-border trade.
